Praying

Prayer is the most basic form of conversation with God. Prayer can be corporate, as when a small group or even a whole congregation prays together, or it can be personal, as when we pray individually. It can be spoken or sung, read or though. It can be formal or informal, ritual or spontaneous.

Most Christians pray in a variety of ways on a daily basis and find their relationship with their Lord to be deeper and fruitful when they do.

Whether you are a person of regular prayer or a beginner, you will find here a place to start or expand your prayer life. No matter what step you take next, God answers the deepest needs of your heart.

TABLE GRACES

Martin Luther's Table Grace

Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest
Let these gifts to us be blest.
Amen.

Bible Table Grace
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
and his mercy endures forever.

PRAYERS AT BEDTIME

Lord, we thank you for the gift of life. As we lay down our heads this night, let the sky be filled with stars. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, bless us now. Amen.

Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, guard my slumber through the night, and wake m in the morning light. Amen.

MEALTIME PRAYERS

Dear Lord,
Bless us now, and this food which we are about to eat.
Amen.

God is great,
God is good,
now we thank Him for our food.
By his hands we all are fed,
give us now our daily bread.
Amen.
