About the Projects
A generous bequest left by a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church who entered the Church Triumphant was received in May 2025. Thanks to this bequest, several projects needing to be done for years are able to be put into motion. In January, painting was done and new carpet was laid in the narthex, parlor, and sanctuary. In April, repaving the parking lot will occur. Additional projects are being discussed.
Carpeting
New carpet was laid during the second two weeks of January 2026. It replaced dark green carpeting that was installed in the 1970s, which has been deteriorating for several years, with brown carpet squares through the parlor, narthex, and much of the sanctuary and the side rooms. The raised part at the front of the sanctuary had regular carpeting installed. The lighter color has made the spaces much brighter.
Painting
White paint replaced the yellow and green paint that also dates back to the 1970s throughout the sanctuary, side rooms, parlor, and narthex. The project was done the first two weeks of January 2026. The old paint was also stained by water leakages. The new color added to the brightness of the spaces.
Electrical Work
Additional outlets were installed in the sanctuary to eliminate the use of power strips and hazards of having cables and cords stretching across walkways. One floor unit was installed to make better usage of the speaker system used during our worship services.
Paving
This project is scheduled to be done in April. More details will be provided closer to the date.
